Madam President?

It could happen, no doubt. As a matter of fact, speculation that Sarah Palin, former Alaska Governor and Republican candidate for Vice President in 2008, will run for President in 2012 is reaching fever pitch. Yet, they say the ambition doesn’t always sit well with Alaskans, who have a saying: “We don’t care how they do it on the Outside.” At least, until the Outside suddenly lands on their doorstep… Read the story in today’s British newspaper The Independent.

  1. Why not? She seems to have what it takes. And if one believes that Hilary Clinton has more clout and integrity than Obama himself, maybe America is approaching an epoque when the US presidency will be confided to the most qualified and forthright woman.

  2. I was at a party and overheard some Democrats talking politics, saying they hoped Palin would get nominated to run against Obama. They thought it was be a disaster for the Republicans. Right now, according to Gallup, Obama is at 47% disapproval. Likely U.S. Voters say their own views are closer to Palin’s than they are to Obama’s, according to Rasmussen. Democrats may not want to be so sanguine about the match up.
