Give Perry a Chance

Rick Perry interviewed by Sean Hannity (November 16, 2011). A video with other videos inside it:

  • The new campaign ad released by Rick Perry, rounding on Barack Obama for his “socialist” policies
  • Rick Perry’s comments on a question about the Department of Energy asked by Scott Pelley at the November 12, 2011 Republican Presidential debate on CBS (in Sean Hannity’s opinion that was probably the funniest moment on the campaign trail):

SCOTT PELLEY, CBS NEWS ANCHOR: Governor Perry, you advocate the elimination of the Department of Energy. If you eliminate the Department of Energy --
PERRY: Glad you remembered it. (APPLAUSE)
PELLEY: I have had some time to think about it, sir.
PERRY: Me too. (CHEERS AND APPLAUSE)

  1. When Perry tossed his hat in the ring, I was pleased. His stumbles on the national stage was, and is, disconcerting. He was a masterful retail politician at the state level, but the number of gaffes at this stage of the game has caused me to withdraw my support from him. His ad team put together some great ads, but he's unable to articulate those ideas and principals in real time. We need a candidate clearly articulating conservative principals and marrying them up with real world examples of their successful applications while pointing out the 100% failure rate of Marxist principals and applications. All the candidates, with the exception of Ron Paul, have the right conservative ideas and principals, and all are an improvement over the failed policies of Obama. At this point Republicans and Conservatives just need someone to present the alternative to Obama strongly and well.
