  2. I kept hearing about this Twitter thing, so I checked it out. Even got an account. But, I can't figure out why I would want to use it and what I would use it for. So, for now, I'm going to let this one pass me by!

  3. Many people are frustrated with Twitter because 1) they do not have clear guidance on how it works and how to use it they get discouraged; or 2) they believe they have to text message by using a cell phone which is not correct.

There are numerous different reasons for the use Twitter. As one example, some people do not Twit (post original posts to their twitter) but they use Twitter to follow certain people, organizations or hashmarked (#) groups. They then have an option to post comments or replies to those twits by others or to check out the referenced source in the twits.

Another example, many groups and bloggers run their feeds through Twitter to give their followers the opportunity to review quickly topics and to consider click on furnished URLs to read the source's full information.

There are also "private" Twitter groups where the staff of or the elected officials themselves communicate on issues with their constituents. And on it goes for other groups.

There are numerous places that provide assistance potential Twitters. If you don't know what Twitter is? Can't understand why you should care? And, you are a conservative and not afraid to provide you name and contact information, check out David All (@davidall)'s Twitter 101 Guide. Again there are many other sources.

  4. I think microblogging is a natural evolution of blogging for people who don’t like to write much. Some people just want to write down something without spending a large portion of their life doing it ... and Twitter is Ok for them.

I am a moderate Twitter user, still to be converted wholeheartedly (and still prefer Facebook, for instance, as a social network). But I must admit that what Bill says is true.
